Notre-Dame Cathedral of Ottawa

30 people gathered in front of the nation’s capital’s Cathedral to honor Our Lady. While praying, we were facing the northeast of the Parliament buildings where the most important decisions for the future of our families, children, and grandchildren are taken. Families with children praying on their knees were very inspiring. The two huge banners, one on each side of the street would attract pedestrians and car drivers. Thank you “Canada Needs Our Lady” to facilitate this important prayer rally.

Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

First Day:

The First Apparition

During the night of July 18-19, 1830, the Most Holy Virgin appeared for the first time to Saint Catherine Labouré, who had been awakened and led from the dormitory to the chapel by her guardian angel.

In the sanctuary, Saint Catherine later wrote:

“I heard something like the rustling of a silk dress, coming from the side of the tribune, close to Saint Joseph’s picture. She alighted on the steps of the altar on the Gospel side, in an arm chair like Saint Anne’s… As I looked up at Our Lady I flung myself close to her, falling on my knees on the altar steps, my hands resting in her knees. That was the sweetest moment of my life.” Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, look on my soul with mercy, obtain for me a spirit of prayer that leads me always to have recourse to thee. Obtain for me the graces that I implore of thee and, above all, inspire me to pray for the graces that thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Though the Miraculous Medal was given to Saint Catherine Laboure in 1830, Our Lady continues to give immense graces through it in our times.

  Second Day:
Protection of Mary in Times of Trial

“The times are very evil, misfortunes are going to befall France, the throne will be overthrown, the whole world will be overwhelmed with misfortunes of every kind”. The Holy Virgin looked very distressed as she said this. “But come to the foot of this altar. Here graces will be bestowed on anyone, great or small, who asks for them with confidence and fervour… A moment will come of such great danger that all will seem lost. But I shall be with you”.
Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, amidst the great desolation in the world and the Church, obtain for me the graces I ask of thee and inspire me, above all, to request the graces that thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Third Day:

The Cross will be despised:

“The Cross will be despised and hurled to the ground, blood will run in the streets, the Side of Our Lord will be opened again. The archbishop will be stripped of his garments”. Here the Holy Virgin, her face filled with sadness, could no longer speak. “My child, the whole world will be plunged in sorrow”, she said to me.

Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, obtain for me the grace to live in union with thee, with thy Divine Son and the Church at this crucial moment in history, as tragic as the Passion, when all humanity is about to choose sides for or against Christ! Obtain for me the graces I implore, especially the grace of requesting that which thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Five First Saturday Devotion

  Fourth Day:

Mary Crushes the Head of the Serpent

At 5:30 on the evening of November 27, 1830, as Saint Catherine was praying in the chapel, the Holy Virgin appeared to her for the second time, standing as high as Saint Joseph’s picture to the right of the main altar.

“Her face was so beautiful that it would be impossible for me to describe it. Her robe was white as the glow of dawn… Her head was covered with a white veil that extended to her feet which rested on a half sphere, with her heel crushing the head of a serpent”.
Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, be my protection against the assaults of the infernal enemy. Obtain for me the graces I am asking of thee and, above all, inspire me to request the graces that thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Three Reasons Why Enemies of the Church Hate the Immaculate Conception

Fifth Day:

The Virgin of the Globe

The Holy Virgin holds a globe in her hands representing the whole world, and each person in particular, and offers it to God, imploring His mercy.

She wears rings on her fingers, bearing precious stones that shed rays, one more beautiful than the next, symbolising the graces that the Holy Virgin pours out on those who ask for them.

Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, obtain for me the graces I am asking of thee and inspire me, above all, to request the graces that thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Sixth Day:

The Invocation on the Medal

During the second apparition, Our Blessed Mother explained to Saint Catherine “how pleased she is when people pray to her and how generous she is with them; how she gives special graces to those who ask; and what a great joy she takes in granting them”.

At that point “a frame formed around Our Lady, like an oval, bearing the following words in gold letters: ‘O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee’”.

Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, obtain for me the graces I am asking of thee and inspire me, above all, to request the graces that thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee,

 Seventh Day:

Revelation of the Medal

Then a voice was heard, saying, “Have a medal struck after this model. Those who wear it, blessed, around their neck will receive great graces. The graces will be abundant for those who wear it with confidence”.

Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, obtain for me the graces that I ask of thee and inspire me, above all, to pray for the graces that thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

 Eighth Day:

The Hearts of Jesus and Mary

After contemplating the picture on the medal, Saint Catherine saw it turn to display the back. There she saw an “M,” the monogram of Mary, surmounted by a small cross and, below it, the hearts of Jesus and Mary, the first surrounded with thorns and the latter pierced with a sword.

Let us pray: O Immaculate Heart of Mary, make my heart like unto thine. Obtain for me the graces I am asking of thee and, above all, inspire me to ask of thee the graces thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

 Ninth Day:

Mary will be Proclaimed:

Confirming the predictions of Saint Louis Grignion de Montfort, Saint Catherine says that the Most Holy Virgin will be proclaimed Queen of the Universe: “Oh! how beautiful it will be to hear: Mary is the Queen of the Universe. The children and everyone will cry with joy and rapture.

That will be a lasting era of peace and happiness. She will be displayed on standards and paraded all over the world”.

Let us pray: O Most Holy Virgin, O my Mother, obtain for me the graces I am asking of thee and inspire me, above all, to pray for the graces that thou most wants to grant me.

Our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be…

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

About the Miraculous Medal

In 1830, during the apparitions in the chapel on Rue du Bac in Paris, the Holy Virgin presented the Miraculous Medal to Saint Catherine Labouré: “Those who wear it, blessed, around their neck will receive great graces. The graces will be abundant for those who wear it with confidence”.

In the time of Saint Catherine Labouré’s death, the distribution of the medal in the world had surpassed the one billion mark. The innumerable conversions, cures and cases of extraordinary protection, quickly lead to its being called the “Miraculous Medal”.

Wearing and disseminating the Miraculous Medal means placing oneself under the protection of the Most Holy Virgin. It means placing oneself under the sign of the Immaculate and taking a stand in face of the troubles and indifference affecting the modern world.

“The whole world will be overwhelmed by misfortunes of all kinds… All will seem lost, but I shall be with you”, the Holy Virgin promised Saint Catherine, who repeated this prophecy till the end of her life. The rays coming from Our Lady’s hands symbolize the graces she obtains for everyone who prays to her with confidence.

Today starting out at 12 O`clock we held a rosary rally.  We did a public walk through the down town core while praying the Rosary. We started out at the Catholic church and proceeded on an eight  block walk through the down town core returning to the church grounds as the prayers reached their end.

This was the third year we have conducted what we refer to as a Rosary rally public walk. we will be continuing the October public Rosary with this type of public walk on a yearly bases for the foreseeable future. As vehicles passed us on the side of the street we were not using, some were giving us a thumbs up; it appears the drivers and their passengers accepted our presence and were not bothered by the little inconvenience we might have caused them.

Today we started with 14 people and 4 more joined as we passed through the down town.

Public Square Rosary Rally

Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Women’s League hosted its first ever Rosary Rally to coincide with the national campaign of Canada Need Our Lady to take back the public square. Though many were invited, few attended on the Saturday of the Thanksgiving Weekend. This day is chosen as it is nearest Saturday to the 102nd anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun (October 13, 1917). At noon as busy traffic passed Third and Columbia, Catholics sang Immaculate Mary and O Sanctissima and prayed the Angelus, Rosary, Litany of the Blessed Virgin and others for the 2019 Intentions for the Public Square Rosary Crusade which included:
– To show God and His Blessed Mother our love and veneration, we offer this rosary rally as a special public commemoration of the 102nd Year Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions at Fatima.
– Through the most Holy Rosary, we ask Our Lord and Our Lady for the conversion of Canada so that it may fulfill its historic mission.
– To stop the waves of sacrilege, blasphemy and anti-religious hatred within our society.
– That our national leaders would seek to honour God’s Law and pray for the wisdom and knowledge necessary
to solve Canada’s complex problems.
– For the urgent triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Canada and the world especially as a result of our massive prayers and acts of reparation offered at these 102nd anniversary rallies.
nIn reparation for the countless sins which are committed daily against the most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the most Immaculate Heart of Mary.
– For the Catholic Church. May Our Lady grant it victory over its enemies, declared and undeclared.

See www.CanadaNeedsOurLady.org for more information. Plan to hold your own Rosary Rally or join with another group next year.

It was looking like our group would be small but (at the stroke of 12 noon) others joined us. So we numbered 11 in total…9 from our parish of St Leonard (including our priest) plus 2 others.
Not bad for a first effort !
It did begin to rain shower the moment we blessed ourselves to start but never was enough to cause us to get our umbrellas from the car.
We considered it an extra blessing…with holy water.
We gathered at the public park at the intersection of two major streets where there’s lots of traffic, as well as, sports fields…with a team practising.
The consensus was that we’ll do it again next year…and hopefully grow in numbers.

Good Morning, My name is Maria. The Rosary Crusade took place on Saturday October 12th, at noon at the corner of Close Ave and King St. West, by the statue of the Blessed Mother located outside of the Holy Family Church of Toronto, Ont.We gathered about 30 people and had two volunteers to hold the banner and another person to distribute the handouts. We followed the suggested Prayer Program and prayed the fifteen Mysteries (Joyful, Sorrows and Glorious) We took few pictures at the end of the program.  The Rally captain is in green jacket. You will find attached a list of names of the attendants. I collected some names. It was a nice spiritual experience for all of us who were present with no disturbances during the prayer, and we were blessed with good weather.  After the rain in the morning, it cleared up by noon, but it was windy reason for placing the banner against the wall of the building for protection. I am not signing for Rally Captain for 2020 at this time.  I will re-check it at the proper time. Thank you for making me  a part of this great Rosary Crusade.  May God continue blessing your work and sacrifices. In Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Maria Ziebert2019 Rally Captain

Zurakowski Park – Barry’s Bay ON

The Rally was held by the Barry’s Bay, Combermere and Foymount areas/
Approximately 40 people showed up on a grey, showery day. The reason the gathering was so limited was caused in part by one of the parishes not publishing the event for 2 previous Sundays, as requested. The part-time secretary forgot to include the memo sent to her for inclusion in the Parish Bulletin. That area usually sends a significant number of people to the Rally.
However, that did not prevent the event from being prayerful and a solid display of our faith and love for Our Lady. The statue of Our Lady of Fatima – 42 inches high – was proudly displayed on a table for all to see and to whom to pray.
Thank you to you for providing us with what was needed to pray fervently and with pride.

In front of St. Gerard Parish Winnipeg, Manitoba 9

Our rally was supposed to be at a more visible location but we moved it in front of our church due to the worst weather condition here in Winnipeg. We have been experiencing the winter storm. A lot of trees fall on the road. Hence, we just have a few in attendance mostly from our Legion of Mary. Even then, we still managed to hold the Rally as our self-sacrifice for the reparation of sins and our love for Our Lord Jesus and Blessed Mother Mary.

Hay River, Northwest Territories

Today starting out at 12 O`clock we held a rosary rally. We do not do it the same way as it is done down south we do not go to a Public square stand there and pray the Rosary and accompanying prayers. We do a public walk through the down town core while praying the Rosary. We start out at the Catholic church and proceed on an eight walk through the down town core returning to the church grounds as the prayers reach there ending.

This was the third year we have conducted what we refer to as a Rosary rally public walk. we will continuing the October public Rosary with this type of public walk on a yearly bases for the foreseeable future. As vehicles passed us on the side of the street we were not using some occupants were giving us a thumbs up signal; it appears the drivers and their passengers accept our presence and are not bothered by the little inconvenience we cause them.

Today we started with 14 people and 4 more joined as we passed through the down town.

As you can see by the photos we had a nice clear sunny day it got all the way up to +11C.

Attached find 6 photos of our walk the caption under each photo indicates what part of the walk it represents plus the individuals name hat took the photo.

We never ripped the banner this year so we will have it for next year we will also be saving the guide pamphlet and extra payer leaflets that we had produced for distribution. We have these extra leaflets as the turn out was not as large as it has been the last few years.

I wasn’t sure if it would only be my husband and myself for it rained all night and continued trough the morning, but in spite of the sometimes heavy rain, people trickled to join in prayer, 15 strong. Everyone was genuinely devout to Our Lady, more so now that our new Parish name is Our Lady of Guadalupe.
